Works should be cited with a b c etc following the date. Your essay should be typed and double spaced on standard sized paper 8 5 x 11 with 1 margins on all sides. In general each work cited in the text must appear in the reference list and each work in the reference list must be cited in the text. These letters are assigned within the reference list which is sorted alphabetically by the surname of the first author. Your references page should be a separate page after the final page of your paper and any endnotes. Order the references alphabetically. This heading should be centered on the page. In apa style a source is briefly cited within the text of a research paper using the authors surname family name and the date of publication. Center the word references at the top of the page in plain text not boldfaced italicized or underlined. The abstract page should include the page header.
